The Moxie Spendlove Story

Meet rich girl Moxie Spendlove! She just turned 25 and inherited the remainder of the family fortune, and is now president of her grandfather's gag gift franchise, Whoopsee-Doozy Enterprises.

There's just one problem: Moxie isn't happy. Her mother's last words to her were "find something that makes you happy," and now she's on a mission to do so!

Moxie Spendlove, the new original online serial, is being presented by Bigger(s) Is Better Releases. The show, a 10 episode season in 20-minute or less installments, will premiere on MySpace and YouTube in Spring 2008.

The project is a labor of love from writer/director/producer Jason Biggers (formerly of Middle of Nowhere Films) and his dedicated team of editors, producers, and actors.

The idea for Moxie Spendlove was born from the limited number of internet-based shows. Biggers and crew had previously worked on short and full length independent and student films, so the challenge and intrigue of producing a continuing story line that revolved around a core group of characters was too much to resist. Bigger(s) Is Better Releases wanted to create an internet series that would entertain audiences and draw a world-wide fan base, which is why MySpace, Vimeo and YouTube were chosen as hosts. These sites hold the potential to spread the Moxie gospel like wildfire...and that's exactly what the show's creators are hoping for.

The 161 page season took roughly two months for writer Jason Biggers to complete. Once the script was finished, casting began; an editor/co-producer fell into place; a production calendar was created; costume and prop shopping got underway; and filming started production in September 2007. Judging by the show's success with the public, Biggers may have the opportunity to write a second season which would begin filming in Summer 2008.

Moxie Spendlove star Shelly Frappier and series creator Jason Biggers attended college together at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, where they both majored in Theatre/Speech Communication. Frappier and Biggers have teamed together three times prior; American Scream 2, My Romantic Comedy, and Why Girls Go Together (BEST FILM WINNER, Siena Heights University Film Festival).

Without the constant support and enthusiasm from Frappier, Moxie Spendlove would not be in production. By day, Shelly works as an ABA Therapist for Autistic children. By night, she's the shining star and one-woman whirlwind of talent driving the success of Moxie Spendlove. Not only is she memorizing more lines than any other actor, she also serves as creative script consultant, costume fashionista, executive producer, and production coordinator. Total professional and perfectionist, it's Frappier's love for Spendlove that truly inspired Biggers to write each episode. Her impeccable comedic timing and ability to improvise, as well as her captivating on-screen presence, will have audiences clamoring, "More, More, More!"

Jeremy Scheffee jumped on board late in the pre-production stages of Moxie Spendlove, but quickly moved front and center as actor, editor, script consultant, location scout, production artwork designer, and official Moxie Spendlove website creator. This is Scheffee's first delve into independent filmmaking. He previously oversaw production on instructional videos at Apple, Inc. and is certified in Final Cut Pro.

Along for her new adventures are Moxie's two best friends, Aurora and Andromeda, valley girls to the death who love helping Moxie spend her fortune; her flamboyant ex-boyfriend, Divinity, back from his stint on The NEW Facts of Life; her new life coach, Herberta Pickle, taking a big interest in Moxie's business matters; a cute love interest, Grack Blama, and his jealous ex-girlfriend, Juniper Julep; and Nanny Fong, the martial arts expert who raised Moxie with a touch of Mary Poppins.

Filmed on location in and around the San Jose, California area, as well as Las Vegas, Nevada, production on Moxie Spendlove wrapped shooting in January 2008. The cast includes an ensemble of seasoned veterans as well as first time actors and Miss 2006 California. Armed with a one-of-a-kind soundtrack and an outrageously chic wardrobe, Moxie Spendlove is sure to appeal to all audiences!

A new episode of Moxie Spendlove will air every Monday - MOXIE MONDAYS - for ten weeks in Spring 2008. Check the episode guide for regular updates and info about each show!
